The SIC Racing riders flew to India for the first Asian round of the 2023 season in the FIM World Championship Grand Prix, with Danial Syahmi participating in the Moto3 category as a wildcard.
Round 13 will take place at the Buddh International Circuit, marking the first time India is hosting the World Championship Grand Prix. The circuit measures approximately 4.96km in length and features 8 right turns and 5 left turns in total.
Damok and Danial are eager to learn this new track and aim to adapt themselves to the circuit and the bikes as quickly as possible. Damok arrives in India with 5 points in the overall championship standings and hopes to be competitive at the Indian GP after the race in Catalunya two weeks ago. As for Danial, this is his second appearance in Moto3 this season as a wildcard. The first time was in June when he replaced Damok at the German GP. Danial will ride for the PETRONAS MIE Racing Vision Track Racing team and will race alongside the Indian rider, Kadai Yaseen Ahamed, who is also competing on a wildcard entry.
“The race in Catalunya didn’t go as I had hoped. I want to give my best this week, and I can’t wait to race in India. This is a new track for all the riders, and there are certainly many things that both I and the team need to understand and learn. It won’t be easy, but I will continue to work hard and push from the beginning. I will strive to be competitive and earn points in the race. Don’t forget to watch the race this week at the IndianGP where Danial and I will race”
“Thank you for giving me the opportunity to race in India as a wildcard. This is the second time I’ve raced in the World Championship, after replacing Damok at the GermanGP. Most importantly, I’ll be riding a Honda. I have two years of experience with Honda, so it will be easier for me to understand and adapt with the bike. I will work together with the new crew chief and the new team. So, I will learn as quickly as possible to give my 100% on the track, and I will give even more efforts than before to be among the top riders”
