The FIM Junior GP Championship will conclude with its final round at the Estoril Circuit in Portugal, from November 25 to 27. The 4.182 km circuit, featuring 13 corners and a 986-meter straight, will serve as the ultimate stage for talented riders from around the world.
SIC Racing will field a slightly different lineup for this round. Hakim Danish (SIC Racing – MSi) will not participate in the race due to a right-hand finger injury sustained in an accident last week.
Farish Hafiy, who recently completed his campaign in the Asia Talent Cup, is ready to take on the responsibility of replacing Hakim Danish. Hafiy is currently at the Riders Formation training camp in Barcelona, where he is intensively working on fitness and riding training in preparation for his debut next week.
Danial Syahmi (Junior Talent Team) has fully recovered from the hand injury he sustained during a training session in Aragon last month. Now fully focused, Danial is determined to deliver his best performance as this marks the final round of the 2024 season.
The final round will take place on November 25, 26, and 27 (Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday) following a venue change from Ricardo Tormo Circuit in Valencia to Estoril Circuit in Portugal. With two races scheduled, both SIC Racing riders are set to compete fiercely, aiming to close the 2024 season with strong results.
Danial Syahmi: “This will be my final race in Junior GP for the 2024 season, so I’ve set higher targets for myself. I’m already familiar with the Estoril Circuit as we raced here earlier this year, where I achieved a good result. With the data we gathered from the previous race, I feel more confident in improving my lap times during free practice and qualifying sessions.
In the earlier race at Estoril this year, I finished in the Top 5. For this race, my goal is to finish in the Top 3 in both Race 1 and Race 2, securing my first podium of the season. As this is my last race in Junior GP, I want to leave a significant impact.
My preparation in Spain, including training before returning to Malaysia, has been very intensive. I’ve spent a lot of time on motorcycle training, cycling, and working out in the gym. Continuing the same program after returning to Spain, I now feel that my physical condition is much better prepared for this race.
In this final race, I will give my all and prove that I am still competitive at the front. I ask for the prayers and support of all Malaysians for my success in Estoril next week. I will do my best in both Race 1 and Race 2, and hopefully, I can end this season on a high note. Thank you!”
Farish Hafiy: “Next week I will be replacing Danish for the final round of the Junior GP Championship in Estoril. I would like to thank my team, ZK Racing, for this valuable opportunity. I will give my very best for the race next week, which will also be my first time riding a Moto3-class machine.
Currently, I am in Spain training with other riders in preparation for the race. I hope all Malaysians will support and pray for my success in the upcoming race. Thank you!”
Zulfahmi Khairuddin: The final round of Junior GP in Estoril brings additional challenges to all teams. Initially, the race was scheduled to take place in Valencia, but the organizers eventually changed the venue to Estoril and also adjusted the race dates. These changes have slightly increased costs and added pressure on the teams.
We are also aware that at the end of the year, the weather at the Estoril Circuit can be unpredictable, with possible rain and strong winds. Honestly, I feel sad that Hakim Danish cannot be with us for this final round. However, I am really looking forward to seeing Hafiy in action as his replacement. He has undergone intensive preparations after the Mini GP World Final to get ready for the challenges in Estoril next week.
For Danial Syahmi, Estoril is a good track for him. His Top 5 result earlier this year will certainly boost his confidence heading into this final race.
We wish Hakim Danish a speedy recovery, and we will do our best with Hafiy and Danial for this final round.”
