The PETRONAS MIE Racing Honda Team has completed a constructive two-day testing session at the Jerez Circuit with Tarran Mackenzie.
With the final WorldSBK round of the 2024 season having concluded just three days ago, the PETRONAS MIE Racing Honda Team and rider Tarran Mackenzie remained at the Spanish circuit of Jerez for a two-day test, alongside several other WorldSBK teams.
Making use of the significant data collected over the course of the latest round, Mackenzie and his team got through a great deal of the work they had planned, facilitated also by dry, stable weather conditions. The focus was largely on the carrying out of comparison tests. On track on both Tuesday 22 and Wednesday 23 October, Tarran was able to test different set-ups and various solutions and updates and compare and contrast these with what has been used on his CBR1000RR-R machine to date. Having completed in the region of 150 laps over the two days and collected more precious information, both team and rider deemed the test very useful, with the work now set to continue back at base.
The PETRONAS MIE Racing Honda Team has now completed its track activities for 2024, with its next test sessions scheduled for January 2025. The team will also confirm its plans and full line-up for the 2025 racing season in due course.
Tarran Mackenzie
“Today we went back to the base setting we’d been using yesterday morning and did a run this morning that felt better. Then we completed another longer run this afternoon and I had much better pace than I’d had over the race weekend so that was a nice step forward. We tried a few electronics things that helped a bit too, and I think the team can continue to make some improvements to the whole package over the winter. I was already happy yesterday, but we definitely made a step today. So a constructive test, and that’s me done until January next year.”
