Yuki Okamoto will be part of the Pata Yamaha Ten Kate Racing team in the FIM Supersport World Championship in 2025. The Japanese rider became champion in the JSB1000 class of the 2024 All Japan Road Race Championship on and will debut in the 2025 World Supersport championship.
Pata Yamaha Ten Kate Racing will field Yuki Okamoto in the 2025 World Supersport class on the new Yamaha YZF-R9. The 25-year-old Japanese rider became champion in the JSB1000 class of the Japanese Superbike Championship last season on a Yamaha YZF-R1 and will make the step up to the world stage in 2025.
Okamoto will have a lot to learn in 2025 as far as the world championship and the – mainly – European circuits are concerned, but with the experience of the most successful World Supersport team from Nieuwleusen and the very promising Yamaha R9, he will have all the tools to be well prepared.
Kervin Bos – Pata Yamaha Ten Kate Racing team manager: “We are extremely happy to confirm our line-up for 2025. Alongside Stefano Manzi, Yuki Okamoto will be part of our team and race the Yamaha R9. Okamoto is an official Yamaha rider and comes from Japan, where he managed to win the JSB1000 championship last season. He is a guy with a lot of potential and talent, so we are honoured that Yamaha Japan has decided to place him in our team and be able to support him during his first year in Europe. Together we will prepare as well as possible for his first season in the World Supersport championship.”
On 7 and 8 November, Pata Yamaha Ten Kate Racing will be in action with both Yuki Okamoto and Stefano Manzi at the Cremona Circuit, where the first Shakedown Test will be held with the new Yamaha YZF-R9.
