Successful Testing Plan Completed for McAMS Racing

The McAMS Racing squad wrapped up a constructive two-day test in P5 overall with a best lap of 1:33.914 at Oulton Park, marking the end of pre-season testing ahead of the opening round of the 2025 Bennetts British Superbike Championship.

Over the last two days, Kent and the team focused on further developing their preferred Yamaha R1 set-up, running a single bike throughout six sessions in total to complete a productive 100 laps of the 2.9-mile Cheshire venue.

Kent, aboard the R1 package, focused mainly on holding a consistent, strong pace throughout the last two days on track, preparing well for the opening races of the year in just over one week.

The final pre-season test ahead of the season also allowed the team to extract more from the race-ready package, putting themselves in a strong position ahead of Round 1, set to kick off on the May Bank Holiday weekend.

A trio of tests at the Circuito de Navarra, Donington Park and Oulton Park were of significant importance to Kent and the team, who searched relentlessly for improvement and made every lap count.

Kent and the team walk away from a busy period of testing with confidence found and a positive feeling in mind, ready to fight at the front as the first weekend of the year unfolds.

Combined Result: P5 – 1:33.914

“It’s been a good test for us, we experimented with several ideas which, for the most part, paid off. After going slightly in the wrong direction earlier, we found a good feeling towards the closing stages of the day, and both the team and I can go into Round 1 with confidence in the bike we have under us. Thanks to the team for their hard work over the last two days.”

Tim Martin
McAMS Racing, Team Owner

“We’ve enjoyed two good days at Oulton Park. We focused on race pace and achieving consistent lap times, which we were able to do. We can head towards Round 1 in a good position to go racing. We ticked most of the boxes we were aiming for and found a good sense of where we need to improve. I’d like to say a big thanks to the team, as usual, and to Tina and James from McAMS for paying us a visit to support. Let’s get to Round 1 and hope the sunny weather remains!”
