PTR Triumph concluded a productive two-day test at the Circuito de Jerez-Angel Nieto in Spain yesterday with regular rider, Tom Booth-Amos and Australian, Oli Bayliss.
The main focus of the test was the suspension chassis set up of the Triumph Street Triple 765 RS for the 2025 specification and the team came away from the two days extremely encouraged for the start of the 2025 season.
Tom Booth-Amos: “Positive two days here in Jerez after the race weekend. We tried the first parts for 2025 and I’m really happy with the progress we made. We went quicker than we did at the weekend and also the race pace has improved a lot so overall I think it’s a good base to start the next year with.”
Oli Bayliss: “Good feelings with the bike, good feelings with the team. We were very, very close to how we finished qualifying here on my bike before and we only had limited track time here at the test so yes, I think it was really good test.”
PTR Triumph Factory Racing Team Manager Simon Buckmaster: “Really good two-day test, it was the right time to do it with everyone still in race mode. It’s been a fantastic two days, in Tom’s case he was faster than he was in qualifying for the race and his race pace was faster so it’s looking really positive for 2025. As everyone already knows Ondrej Vostatek won’t be riding for us in 2025, we’d like to think that we have helped his career and we got him into the top ten so all the best to him. Oli Bayliss tested our other bike and it was good to work with him, the feedback was good and his pace was closer to Tom so better for us to work with. A really good test with Oli as well so let’s look to the future and we will announce our second rider soon.”
