Johann Zarco in fight for the podium at MotoGP Qatar for LCR Honda Team

#5 Johann Zarco – 10th (1’51.636) – Practice
“I’m really happy. That last lap was amazing and thrilling. I could feel that the soft rear tyre had something extra to give over one lap. I made a mistake on my first attempt but nailed it on the second. We’ve improved the bike’s control, and this track gives us a lot of grip. It feels like we have more potential than we did last year. We’ve made a big step forward today.”
#35 Somkiat Chantra – 22nd (1’53.010) – Practice
Today was a solid day, even though I had a crash and saved a big one while pushing. From the morning to the afternoon, I started to feel more comfortable on the bike. I still need to improve my corner entry at this circuit, I have to adapt better. I’m going over the data to come back stronger tomorrow.”
#5 Johann Zarco – DNF – Sprint
“We made a big mistake with the rear tyre choice. We expected to manage just the wear drop-off, but I experienced a lot of chattering and couldn’t play with the throttle properly. I lost several positions and nearly crashed. It’s disappointing because I had been feeling good, I’m making solid progress, and we’ve done well throughout the weekend. I hope that with the medium rear tyre tomorrow, we’ll have better control. We’ll do our best to turn things around.”
#35 Somkiat Chantra – 20th – Sprint
In the Sprint, I was struggling on the bike, I didn’t feel as good as I did yesterday. We’re trying different things to improve and do better tomorrow. We’ll give it our maximum.”
#5 Johann Zarco – 4th – Race
“Fighting for the podium and having that pace and that feeling on the bike it’s something really cool. We’ve worked really well this weekend, and this result is proof of that and the work we’ve been doing since last year. I feel I can control the bike better now, and that allows me to perform at a higher level. Let’s try to keep the momentum going; we’re steadily making progress, and that’s what really matters.”
#35 Somkiat Chantra – 18th – Race
“It was a tough race, although I did feel some improvements on the bike compared to yesterday. We’re working hard to keep progressing, and step by step, we’re getting there. I can’t wait to get to Jerez and kick off the European races!”
