Jason O’Halloran and the McAMS Yamaha team are fired up for the fourth round of the 2023 Bennetts British Superbike Championship, which takes place at the picturesque Knockhill circuit in Scotland this weekend.
At 1.269 miles, Knockhill is the shortest circuit on the Bennetts BSB calendar and presents a unique range of challenges to racers in the 47 second lap. The circuit presents a combination of fast and flowing turns, plus the infamously tight Hairpin at the end of the lap and there’s even no rest over the start finish straight as the rider fights to keep the front wheel down over the crest before the fast drop down into turn one.
It’s a venue where Aussie O’Halloran took two dominant wins in 2022, in the middle of his mid-season winning streak, which saw him take seven wins and 12 podiums from 12 races. On top of this, the team recently enjoyed a positive test at the circuit, where they were able to roll out a number of new parts, which are new for 2023, for the first time.
The 2022 success combined with his feeling from the test leaves O’Halloran feeling confident ahead of the weekend and with the heatwave forecast to continue, conditions should be perfect for a sizzling summer weekend.
The ‘O’Show’ will be flying solo this weekend after the news that team-mate Tim Neave has decided to take a step back from racing at this level and as a result has parted company with the team. The plan is for the team to be back up to two bikes for Round 5 at Snetterton in July.

“Knockhill holds some really good memories for me after our double win there last year so I’m looking forward to getting here. We’ve had speed at each round this year, as shown by the win at Donington, but it’s been a bit up and down so it was good to roll out at Knockhill and find some steps forward with the bike. We did some great runs and the weather looks good for the weekend, so I’m confident about being up at the sharp end and hopefully we can really kick start our 2023.”

“When the sun shines, Knockhill is one of the best rounds on the calendar. The track is great, the views are excellent from up on that hill and the general atmosphere is fantastic. Last year Jason won two races there and we’ve had a really good test in the run up to the event, so we’re feeling confident and keen to get our title challenge back on track after an up and down first three rounds. We can now confirm that Jason will be the only McAMS Yamaha on track this weekend. Of course we want to be running two bikes and we have a couple of options lined up for Snetterton, but with the short notice and unique nature of Knockhill it didn’t make sense to rush to put someone on it this weekend.
