Dynavolt Triumph ready to challenge at Catalunya

Dynavolt Triumph head to the Circuit de Barcelona Catalunya as round four of the 2023 FIM Supersport World Championship gets underway this weekend, 5-7 May.

The 4.6km circuit just outside of Barcelona has been good to Dynavolt Triumph’s Niki Tuuli over the years with a raft of top six results including a podium to his name and the Finnish rider is looking to challenge at the front once again this weekend.

Niki Tuuli: “I can’t wait for Barcelona; it has been a really good track for me and I think it will fit the Triumph really well. I hope we can start the weekend with good feeling straight from FP1 and we find the right way to go with the setting to find the best feeling for me to ride. I’m also happy that we ended the Assen weekend with a good feeling so we are going to Barcelona with an open mind and we cannot wait to start working and make the best job we can.”

Teammate Harry Truelove is familiar with the fast and flowing Catalan circuit and is aiming for a strong first Spanish World Supersport appearance as he continues to progress in his rookie season with the Dynavolt Triumph.

Harry Truelove: “I’m looking forward to my first race at Catalunya.  I’ve been there before so I think I’ll be able to get up to speed right away and hopefully build for a strong weekend.  We learned a lot in Assen and hopefully we can use that to move forward.”

Dynavolt Triumph Team Manager Simon Buckmaster: “We had a podium here last year with Stefano Manzi so the bike works well here and I think Niki is quite confident here. Race one in Assen wasn’t great for us but we improved the bike, Niki improved and in race two we were back in the top five.  From Niki’s side we need to look to challenge for the podium. We know the bike’s good enough, the team is good enough and we know Niki is good enough so we have to put all the factors together and challenge for the podium, that is what we are here for and that is our goal.  With Harry we need to keep working, he is improving but it is such a high level of competition.  We need to keep his confidence up, keep working with him to get him back in the points, to be consistent and keep improving.”

World Supersport action kicks off with Free Practice One on Friday at 11:25 (local time).
