Queensland Raceway is set to host the third round of the Australian Superbike Championship (ASBK) this weekend as Broc Pearson is once more joined by Troy Herfoss aboard the DesmoSport Ducati Panigale V4 R. Queensland Raceway, often referred to as the ‘paperclip’ with only six turns to complete a 3.1 kilometre lap, is a challenge for riders, demanding heavy acceleration, heavy braking and perfect execution lap after lap.
Ben Henry: “We had a two-day test here a few weeks ago, along with most of the field, and it threw a few challenges to us if I’m honest, but it also gave us some direction that we’ve been working on back at the workshop, especially around the rear shock. Troy was meant to arrive earlier in the week, but some cancelled flights means he’s actually still in transit, so right now I’m not even sure what day he’ll get to the track. There’s a lot of positive momentum around the whole team right now though, both Broc and Troy are confident after their own results on track here and obviously Troy’s strong results in the US, and it’s fun being at the track with a great team. I think we all know we have the potential to get back on the podium this weekend.”
Broc Pearson: “Every time I’ve ridden the bike this year we’ve found something new, corrected something and I’ve been able to keep progressing in the way I ride the bike and it’s showing in my results. The test was the same really. I felt good on the bike, and I put in good lap times, but we found a problem and the guys have been able to spend time working on it back at Cube (Performance Centre), so I feel pretty good about what I can achieve this weekend.”
