Davey Todd set his marker down for the season, with an opening race victory in the Pirelli National 1000cc Superstock class aboard his Cheshire Mouldings BMW at Oulton Park.
The M1000RR mounted rider was unchallenged from his pole position grid spot, making it a perfect weekend when he added a new lap record for the class at the Cheshire venue.
Rory Skinner had to sit out Monday’s proceedings after a horror crash during morning warm up. Thankfully the Scottish ace was not badly injured and can take heart from Sunday’s race one pace where he finished eighth.

“Absolutely over the moon with how we have started the season with the Cheshire Mouldings BMW team. Every practice and even during qualifying we were top of the board. We set a strong but steady pace in the race and managed to pull it off and get our first win of the season.
It’s going to be a busy few weeks now, so no better way to start the season than with a win. Thanks to all the boys for a big effort.”

After the positives from Sunday we were brought down to earth with a bump yesterday. I’m a bit battered and bruised but there are lots of positives to take from what we have achieved so far with the Cheshire Mouldings BMW and I’m looking forward to the rest of the season.
Thanks to everyone who contacted me wishing me well. It means a lot.”
Philip Neill – Team Principal
“There is no better way to start the season than with a win and Davey has provided that in some style this weekend, with not only a victory, but a new lap record on the Cheshire Mouldings BMW.
Rory has settled in well and Sunday’s result was something to build on, but racing can sometimes have a cruel way of putting an embargo on your plans. For us as a team, the most important thing is his welfare, so we are delighted he came away from this yesterday’s incident relatively unscathed. It’s disappointing for him to have missed the final two races but from what we have seen so far, there will be plenty of good times ahead.”
