Superpole victory for Toprak Razgatlioglu and sensational position climb for Michael van der Mark at Assen

An outstanding victory from Toprak Razgatlioglu in the Superpole Race and valuable points for the championship standings. “El Turco” won the Sunday morning sprint on his BMW M 1000 RR with a commanding lead, celebrating his first-ever rain victory in WorldSBK. His teammate and local hero Michael van der Mark put on a sensational charge in the sprint race, fighting his way from 13th on the grid to finish fifth.

A double DNF for Oli Bayliss and a crash for Tom Booth-Amos at Assen WorldSSP

Tom Booth-Amos: “Well it was looking like a really good result but unfortunately as soon as I touched the throttle the front end folded and that was that, luckily enough I got back on and got a point so we just need to concentrate on Cremona and get back on the top of the podium.”

Two crashes see Andrea Iannone out of Race One and the Superpole Race. He finishes P9 in Race 2 to salvage some points.

It was a disappointing weekend for Team Go Eleven at Assen with 2 DNFs but points were earned in Race 2 with a P9 finish. The team will regroup and be ready for Cremona in May.
