A couple of DNFs for LCR Honda put a dampener on their weekend at the Sepang Circuit Malaysia

UNEXPECTED SPRINT FOR JOHANN ZARCO IN MALAYSIA
CASTROL Honda LCR rider Johann Zarco hasn’t been able to finish the Sprint race in Sepang.
Saturday started with high hopes for Zarco and the LCR crew: he had been strong in the morning session, made his way to Q2, and classified 11th on the grid. However, after a tough start to the race, a technical problem finished with his options, forcing the rider to retire.
After analyzing the data, the team is fully committed to making the necessary adjustments in order to be ready for tomorrow’s race.
Johann Zarco – DNF
“I felt good during qualifying, but unfortunately, I didn’t have the same feeling on the Sprint. I didn’t want to make mistakes, and to avoid them, I had to be patient to control the situation. When I was recovering some positions, I had a technical problem and had to retire. But we’re not giving up. We’ll have another chance tomorrow, and I’m determined to make the most of it.”
NAKAGAMI COMPLETES THE SPRINT IN MALAYSIA
IDEMITSU Honda LCR rider Takaaki Nakagami has crossed the line 17th on Saturday’s Sprint in Sepang.
Starting from the 18th spot on the grid, Nakagami faced a hard Sprint on Malaysian soil, as some vibrations on the bike prevented him from feeling confident enough to squeeze his package. Despite the challenges, he demonstrated his ability to adapt, finishing the race and gathering information to find a solution alongside the crew to fight for the points ahead of tomorrow’s race.
Taka Nakagami – 17th
“The Sprint has been challenging as I could not get the feeling to push due to some vibrations, and it was difficult to keep the pace. However, I focused on not making mistakes and gathering information to improve on tomorrow’s race. It was a pity because this morning’s pace was quite strong. Let’s see how it goes tomorrow; we’ll do our best.”
JOHANN ZARCO SCORES POINTS IN MALAYSIA
CASTROL Honda LCR rider Johann Zarco has finished 11th on the Sunday race at the Sepang International Circuit.
Frenchman Zarco executed a controlled and strong race in Malaysia, engaging in a thrilling battle against his rivals for a top 10 spot. Despite the challenging conditions, he maintained his composure, avoided errors, and maximized his potential. His control over the situation was evident as he crossed the finish line as the leading Honda in the classification.
Johann Zarco – 11th
“I’m happy. I didn’t make any mistakes today and we’ve done a good job with what we had. I wanted to get the top 10, but I could not do it. I enjoyed the fight, and that is important. At the last stages of the race, I struggled with the rear tyre, but I managed to control the situation and grab some points.”
COMPLICATED SUNDAY FOR NAKAGAMI IN MALAYSIA
IDEMITSU Honda LCR rider Takaaki Nakagami has retired on Sunday race at the Sepang International Circuit.
It’s been a demanding race for Japanese Nakagami as five laps to the end, he had to enter the pits and retire due to some increasing vibrations on the bike preventing him from pushing and performing. The technicians are fully committed to reviewing and resolving the issue before the next race.

“Since yesterday, during the Sprint, I have had a lot of vibrations. I felt them a lot today, and I couldn’t ride the way I wanted. I wasn’t confident, so I stopped, we need to understand what happened. Let’s see what we can do in the next Grand Prix. We are working on fixing this feeling.”
